Ready To Swap Your Burger For A Vurger?

Ready To Swap Your Burger For A Vurger?

Ready To Swap Your Burger For A Vurger?

You may have heard about the new craze The Vurger Burger, people are deciding to ditch the old traditional meaty burger for the new 100% plant based fast food – I hear you say, “NO WAY” but hear me out…

The Vurger Company believes in 100% plant based fast food, created from the best vegetables, seeds, nuts and legumes and using all sustainable products.

Now although this might not sound like everyone’s idea of the perfect burger, they do have some fantastic benefits when eating them for example the Vurger Burger contains no artificial ingredients (which a lot of vegetarian burgers on the current market do contain)

Vurger Company started off as a small independent company selling their burgers in pop up restaurants in East London and local festivals

After the continued success and popularity Vurger Company decided to create a crowdfunding campaign to secure £150,000 for 23% equity, however after only 3 days the company were able to end the campaign after successfully securing £300,000.

Vurger Company is now looking to secure their new permanent home!

Since crowdfunding started back in 2012 it has helped raise over £4 Billion for all sorts of projects, so with the ever more popularity of crowdfunding it is no surprise that entrepreneurs within the hospitality industry have turned to crowdfunding to help them start their own projects, such companies as:

  • Clove Club – 1 Michelin Starred Restaurant opened back in 2013 with the help of £250k crowdfunding investment
  • Bonobo Café – Aberdeen’s first Vegan café opened 2017 with the help of £12k crowdfunding investment
  • Norse – 2AA Michelin recommended restaurant in Harrogate opened in 2014 with the help of £20k for crowdfunding investment.

So as you can see there are some fantastic companies within the UK who would have never have stood a chance with the banks, they have been created using crowdfunding even including the likes of Dartmoor Zoo, that were helped with over £1.6 Million of investment to keep it open for the public.

So back to the Vurger’s! Why should I swap?

2017 has seen an trend for plant based foods especially popular with health-conscious consumers and athletes.

Plant based proteins have been heralded as “sustainable, affordable and nutritious” with plant based proteins you get antioxidants, fibre, phytonutrients, vitamins and minerals on top of the protein.

Researchers have discovered that plant-based diets reduce the risk of certain health conditions like hypertension and obesity.

So what plants are high in protein I hear you say? If you do not already eat them then I would certainly recommend you try to introduce peas, spinach and kale into your diet as they are all high in Chlorophyll. That’s right the stuff that gives plants their colour has been crowned the “Superfood” which is known to be helpful with everything from eye and skin health to proper blood clotting.

So I ask you again Burger or Vurger?
