Entry Level Pastry Chef - 1 Michelin Star kitchen in Sussex - £21-24k package - Live in Available - 4 Day week!
We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate junior pastry chef to join the brigade of our client's 1 Michelin star kitchen in Sussex.
NO MICHELIN EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
You will be working in the magnificent surroundings of a stunning country house hotel, cooking in a state of the art kitchen with a young, enthusiastic team around you.
As a junior pastry chef (either Commis or Demi CDP level), you will assist the senior pastry chefs in the day to day running of the pastry section - assisting with prep and service of afternoon teas, plated desserts for the lunch and dinner menus and all breads & pastries.
This is a fantastic and rare opportunity to gain experience working at an extremely high level, learning from a very talented head chef and a fantastic pastry team.
We are looking for someone who hasn’t necessarily worked at 1 Michelin star level before, but someone who understands the standards required at a kitchen of this standard, and is willing to work hard to learn and improve on a daily basis. NVQ level 3 in Patisserie or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
The hotel also boasts an enormous kitchen garden that supplies the chefs with a huge quantity of fantastic home-grown produce. A wide range of unique fruit and veg varieties, exotic herbs and salads at your disposal, all tended to by the hotel’s dedicated gardening team.
You will be working 4 days per week, with 3 full days off. The salary package is made up of £19-21.5k basic (depending on experience) plus tips of a minimum £2k per year. Live in accommodation is also available with a very reasonable charge.
